Purifying one's soul is an obligation that is incumbent upon every Muslim, so that he may attain success and happiness in this world and in the hereafter. However, this spiritual purification can be hindered by two types of pitfalls, the diseases of the soul that find their source in passions and ambiguities and the external obstacles that constitute temptations, the evil suggestions of Satan, bad company and the influence of family and society.
